Ask which council certified them and for the certificate number, then look it up in the CONACEM public directory. Certification is a legal requirement for specialist practice in Mexico and runs five years, so the expiry date matters as much as the number. To re-enter the United States, yes: a passport, passport card, or an enhanced driver's licence from a state that issues them. Canadians need a passport. Going into Mexico is the easy part; the document is for the return.
